Happy Friday, Cool Cat Families,
It’s been a great week at Coronation with lots of excitement, fun, and of course, great learning.
We have many celebrations happening this weekend in our Coronation community. We would like to wish our Islamic families a happy Mawlid Al Nabi and our Hindu families a happy Navaratri, both beginning today.
Beginning on Sunday we wish our Jewish families a Chag Sukkot. And, to all of our families celebrating on Monday, we wish you a happy Thanksgiving.
A couple notes from the office:
As our weather gets cooler, please remember to send your child to school with warm clothing to allow them to be outside comfortably at breaks. Layers are always recommended with appropriate footwear for the weather as well as hats and gloves or mittens. We know that buying winter clothing for children can be very costly, especially for families with multiple children. If a family finds themselves in need of warm clothing for their child, please don’t hesitate to contact the office and we can support you.
Lost and Found. We already have a very full lost and found. Please check out our Instagram page for photographs of lost items. If you find something that belongs to your child, please come to, or contact the office and we can direct you to the lost and found.
Picture Day is coming! October 21st, individual photos will be taken. All students and staff will have their photos taken. No money or orders will be collected until AFTER PICTURE DAY. Proofs will be then sent home to families and orders can be made online. All students, whether they’re purchasing photos or not, will receive a class composite photo at no charge. This composite will replace class photos. Click here to see an example of a class composite. Each child will be “featured” on their personal class composite.
Thank you to those that have already reached out indicating their interest in becoming a volunteer with our School Council. Our first meeting on October 12th. It will be in person, beginning at 6:00 PM in the library at Coronation. We will also have a virtual option for those parents that are interested in attending virtually. The virtual link will be sent out to all interested family members on Tuesday of next week . If you are interested in volunteering, please email jenni-rebecca_baer@wrdsb.ca or cor@wrdsb.ca to submit your name.
Our Spirit Wear online store should be up and running by the end of next week. Please watch out for information coming soon.
The office is continuing to collect menstrual pads, tampons, cloth pads, hot water bottles, and heating pads during the month of October in support of www.truenorthaid.ca, an organization that supports Northern Canadians with practical humanitarian support.
