Hello Cool Cat Families and Welcome to November!

At Coronation we are recognizing that November is Hindu Heritage Month, Movember, and Financial Literacy Month.

Next week is Treaties Recognition Week and Remembrance Day.

A couple notes from the office:

Please refrain from using our parking lot at the beginning and end of the school day. We have signs at our entrance, reminding visitors and families of this expectation. We have many students and families who walk through our parking lot and for their safety, we do not allow vehicles in and out at this time. We appreciate your understanding.

For families of children on Individualized Education Plans (IEP), as you are aware, distribution of student IEPs has been delayed due to ongoing challenges in accessing systems as a result of the cyber incident. Thank you for your continued patience as you await the final copy of your child’s IEP. Please be reassured that educators have been ensuring the necessary accommodations and modifications are in place to support student learning and success.

I am pleased to share that educators now have access to the IEP database. As a result this year’s IEP information is now being entered into the database and we will be sharing the final draft of the IEP with families by November 30th. If you have any questions about your child’s IEP, please reach out to your child’s teacher.

Our Spirit Wear store is now closed. Orders should arrive at school by the end of the month. Once they arrive, we will notify families and send orders home with students. A huge thank you to all of the “Angel Donors” who have supported our $5.00 t-shirt initiative.

As I mentioned last week, our school has been chosen by the WRDSB to have our Remembrance Day assembly on November 11th, live streamed for public viewing. An invitation will be sent to families next week inviting you to join our livestream.

Please read the following letter regarding our Safe Caring and Inclusive Schools Survey. This letter will provide you with information about the purpose of this survey, how it is being administered and how to opt out, should you choose to. https://waterlooregional.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_0SrrKKZNa8AKXHg

Finally, Next Thursday is our November School Council meeting. All parents/ guardians are welcome to attend. It begins in the library at 6:00PM. Should you be unable to attend but wish to participate, please send me an email and a virtual meeting link will be sent to you. Thank you.
