Happy Monday, Coronation Families,
This week brings with it cooler and wetter weather. Please ensure that your child is coming to school with clothing that will keep them warm and dry during outdoor Learning and Nutrition Breaks. Boots are recommended over outdoor shoes at this time due to the wet weather.
We have limited extra clothing available for students in the office. Please ensure your child comes to school with everything they need to be warm outside. If items are borrowed from the office (mittens, hats, coats, etc.) we ask that they are washed and returned to Coronation for use by other students.

Messages from the Office
Smencil Sales
We still have Smencils for sale. Smencils will be sold on Thursdays each week until we run out of product. Smencils continue to be sold for $2.00 each or 3 for $5.00 with all profits going to Coronation’s Nutrition For Learning.
Popcorn Sales
We have popcorn left over from our Family Movie Night.
We will be selling butter flavoured popcorn for $1.00 a bag (bags are smaller than those sold at Family Movie Night) at first break tomorrow (Tuesday) and Wednesday.
An announcement will be made at first break and students who have brought money will be invited to come to the library to purchase a bag of popcorn.
A Message from Public Health
As you may know, mail service is currently unavailable through Canada Post. During this time, Public Health will be sending home important letters through your child’s school instead of mailing them. Students may receive a letter about:
- Incomplete vaccination records
- Vision screening results
- Dental screening
Please check your child’s backpack regularly for any letters they may have received at school.
If you have any questions about a letter you received, or if you were expecting a letter and did not receive one, please call 519-575-4400.
Thank you,
Region of Waterloo Public Health
Messages from School Council
Thank you to all of our families who joined us on Friday night for our first Family Movie night of the school year. It was a great event. We look forward to our next Movie Night on April 11, 2025
Our Favourite Winter Event, The Holiday Store, is just around the corner.
On December 19th, students are invited to bring a Toonie to school to “shop” in our “Holiday Store”. All Students will pick one item to be wrapped, that they will be able to take home and give to a friend or family member to celebrate Hanukkah, Yule, Christmas, Kwanzaa, or simply just for the spirit of giving.
During the week of December 9 – 13, we invite Coronation families to drop off gently used or new items for our Holiday Store.
We welcome the following donations of new or gently used items:
- Children’s toys, books, or games
- Small Household items (decor, candles, kitchen items, giftware, etc.)
- Wrapping paper (all types), bows or ribbons, or gift bags.
School Council is looking for volunteers to help us at our Holiday Store on December 19th. If you can spare an hour or more on December 19th during the school day to help wrap gifts for this yearly event, please contact our School Council Chair candice_agnew@wrdsb.ca
