Our school website has been updated! We’ll continue to use it to share important information with families. Visit cor.wrdsb.ca to stay informed.
Cool Cat New Year Challenge
We’re starting the year with the Cool Cat New Year Challenge! This school-wide initiative focuses on fostering community, teamwork, and school spirit while celebrating creativity, collaboration, and kindness.
Students and staff will work together on flexible, engaging activities, and highlights will be displayed on our main bulletin board and shared with families via Instagram. We’re excited to see the incredible things our Cool Cats accomplish!
What School Staff Are Learning: January 17 PD Day
A reminder that Friday, January 17, 2025, is a Professional Development (PD) Day for elementary school staff.
- Kindergarten to Grade 8: No school (in-person or virtual).
- Grades 9 to 12: Regular school schedule.
- Board-operated Extended Day Programs: Operating with reduced hours, 8:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
PD Days provide valuable opportunities for school-based staff to enhance their knowledge and skills in support of student achievement and well-being. You can read more about PD Day learning topics here.
A Message from School Council
Thank you to everyone who supported our Holiday Store, which raised over $500 to support trips and resources for the school. We appreciate the community donations and volunteers who helped make the event a success.
Costco Volunteer Reading Program
We’re excited to welcome back the Costco Volunteer Reading Program! This initiative pairs Costco employees with Grade 1–3 students to help improve reading skills. Volunteers meet with students once a week for 30–60 minutes for at least 10 sessions.
If your child is selected to participate, you’ll receive a permission form in the coming days.
Paperwork Requests
If your family requires documentation from the school office (e.g., letters of enrollment, proof of guardianship), please allow 3–5 business days for processing.
Coronation Is a MAAP School
Coronation has been identified by the Ministry of Education as a Priority School for Junior Math Instruction and Special Education support.
Since September, WRDSB Math Facilitator Mrs. Athens Gotsaritis has been working with our staff and students to strengthen math instruction and ensure that all learners’ needs are met. Over the next few months, she’ll collaborate with Grade 6 educators and students to further this work.
