March 24th, 2025
Dear Coronation Families,
We hope you had a great weekend! As we settle into the spring season, it’s been lovely to see the students enjoying their time together playing outside.
With the weather changing from day to day, please continue to send your child dressed in layers and with footwear that can handle a range of conditions—we’re outside as much as possible.
Our playgrounds, climbing equipment and grassy areas remain off-limits due to slippery and wet conditions as well as the need to protect the new grass that’s starting to grow.
We’ll continue with tarmac-only breaks, and students have really been enjoying them! We’ve added soccer nets and balls, frisbees, skipping ropes, sidewalk chalk, and basketballs, along with a student-friendly music playlist to help keep breaks active and positive.

Messages from the Office
What’s Happening on the March 31 PD Day
A reminder that Monday, March 31, 2025, is a Professional Development (PD) Day for all elementary and secondary staff.
There will be no school for students, either in person or online, and all board-operated Extended Day and Youth Development programs will be closed.
PD Days provide important opportunities for educators and school staff to engage in learning that supports student achievement and well-being. These sessions help staff build skills and deepen knowledge to better meet the needs of all learners.
To learn more about what staff will be focusing on this PD Day, visit: Professional Development for School Staffhttps://www.wrdsb.ca/our-schools/teaching-standards/professional-development-days-for-school-staff/
Battery Blitz Results Are In!
We’re excited to share that Coronation Public School collected an incredible 116.64 kg of batteries during the Battery Blitz challenge—well done, everyone!
A huge shoutout to Mrs. Casale and Room 12 for their outstanding efforts and leadership throughout the campaign. We are so proud of their commitment to environmental stewardship.
Thank you to all the students, staff, and families who participated. Because of you, these batteries will be safely recycled and won’t end up in landfills. What a great example of our community coming together to make a positive impact!
A Message from Region of Waterloo Public Health
You may have received a Suspension Order if your child/children continue to have incomplete vaccination records with Public Health. If you received a letter, you must update your child’s records with Public Health, or your child may be suspended from school.
Suspension will occur on April 2nd, 2025, so you still have time to act – you may need to:
· Book an appointment with your doctor to receive required vaccinations
· Submit records to Public Health online at www.regionofwaterloo.ca/vaccines
· Report a future appointment (after April 2nd, 2025) with your doctor to Public Health ISPA – Report Upcoming Vaccine Appointment – Region of Waterloo
If you have questions about the Suspension Order you received, please visit www.regionofwaterloo.ca/vaccines. Translation and an instructional video on how to report vaccines are available on the Public Health website.

Coronation Clothing Swap – Postponed
Due to limited donations, we will be postponing the Coronation Clothing Swap until we have received enough items to run the event successfully. We will continue collecting gently worn clothing (for all ages) and will announce a new date once we have adequate donations. If contributions remain low, we will plan to hold the swap as part of our Fun Fair at the end of the school year.
Donations can be dropped off at the main office.
Please note: We cannot accept socks, underwear, or accessories.
