Happy Monday Cool Cat Families,

We hope you had a wonderful weekend! As we move into the final full weeks of the school year, we continue to celebrate all of the joyful moments happening at Coronation.

First, we want to take a moment to recognize Father’s Day. We send warm wishes to all those in fathering roles—dads, stepdads, grandfathers, uncles, and others who provide care, guidance, and love to children in their lives. We hope your day was filled with joy and special moments.

What’s Happening This Week:

Monday: Grade 3A and 3B trip to Country Heritage Park

Tuesday: Booster Juice delivery

Wednesday: Pizza delivery, Langs Lunch and Games Club, Talent Show Dress Rehearsal

Thursday: School Council’s Fun Fair

Friday: Primary Play Day

Messages from the Office

Family Picnic Thank You

Thank you once again to our entire Coronation community for making last week’s Family Picnic such a success. It was a beautiful afternoon of connection, fun, and sunshine. We will be posting the clear, processed drone photo from the picnic on both our website and Instagram in the coming days.

Regional Track and Field Meet

We also want to recognize all of the students who represented Coronation at Jacob Hespeler Secondary School for Junior Track and Field Regionals last week. Our Cool Cats showed up not only with their talent but also with excellent sportsmanship and behaviour throughout the day. We are proud of how they represented our school.

Kathy Stinson’s Visit

Mrs. Berg’s students had a special visit from author Kathy Stinson, best known for her book Red Is Best. To celebrate, the class enjoyed a special “Red Is Best” lunch, listened to Kathy read her newest book, and shared some of their own writing with her. It was a wonderful opportunity for students to connect directly with an author and celebrate their love of reading and writing.

Primary Play Day

This Friday, students in Kindergarten to Grade 3 will enjoy a full day of outdoor activities as part of our annual Primary Play Day. Students will rotate through a variety of fun, active stations designed to celebrate the end of the year together.

To help your child fully enjoy the day, please ensure they come prepared with:

A full change of clothing, as some activities may involve water

  • A towel to dry off as needed
  • Sunscreen applied before school
  • A hat for sun protection
  • A refillable water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day
  • Please note that bathing suits are not required, as activities are designed to be light water play rather than full water-based events.

Library Books

Please continue to return any outstanding library books. Overdue notices will be sent home this week.

School Supply Drive

We are currently collecting donations of new school supplies to support our classrooms and ensure all students have what they need to start the year off successfully. Donations will be accepted at the office now through the end of September. All donated supplies will be shared among classrooms and students who may need them throughout the year.

Some suggested items include: crayons, pencils, pencil crayons, erasers, glue sticks, tape, Kleenex, binders, highlighters, markers, dry erase markers, duotangs, and folders.

Thank you for your generosity and for helping us build a strong start for every student.

Before and After School Care Registration

Registration for the 2025-26 Before & After School Programs is opening soon at the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB)!

Our programs provide a safe and welcoming space for students in Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6 before and after the school day. Led by familiar WRDSB educators, these programs offer play-based learning experiences, nutritious snacks, and a seamless connection between school and care.

We know families experienced challenges last year with Before & After School registration and we have been working with OneList to address these issues and ensure a smoother process for the 2025-26 school year.

Our school’s registration date is: June 16, 2025 starting at 7 a.m.

For more information about Before and After School Programs and how to register, please visit the WRDSB website.
