Messages from the Office
This Wednesday, May 13th we invite our Parent and Family community to join us in the library at 6:30 PM. In collaboration with our School Council, we are excited to host speaker, advocate and published author, Michael Jacques. Michael was diagnosed at a young age with Autism and an Intellectual Disability.
Michael’s presentation, “The Power of Partnership,” intends to share how effective advocacy and a strong bridge between home and school can transform outcomes for children.
Michael’s message is directed at all families, not just those with loved ones who live life with disabilities.
We will offer refreshments and light snacks. In an effort to prepare, please complete this short survey to indicate your attendance.

Cricket Club & Basketball Club
If your child has signed up for Cricket or Basketball Club, please ensure they wear clothing to run in, including appropriate footwear. Cricket Club will happen outdoors (unless it is raining) and students should have outdoor running shoes. A refillable water bottle is also recommended .
Items from Home
This is just a reminder that Coronation is not responsible for items from home that are lost or damaged at school.
Cell Phone & Smartwatch Policy
Please remind children that carry a cell phone, smartwatch or other electronic device, that it must be powered off when arriving at school. These items may be brought to the Office and will be kept in a locked box during the school day. Students may pick them up at the office following dismissal from class.
Playground Equipment for Use
As our field areas have reopened, we will return to providing outdoor equipment for students to use at Nutrition Breaks. The school has allocated basketballs for each of our basketball nets, soccer balls for both upper and lower campus as well as balls for each of our foursquare courts.
Extended Day Registration
Registration for Before and After School Programs operated by the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) will open on May 19, 2026.
Starting in the 2026-27 school year, registrations will be assessed using a new priority criteria. If your child is currently enrolled in a Before and After School Program for the 2025–2026 school year (as of May 1, 2026) and you register between May 19 and May 29, 2026, your registration will be considered in the priority placement.
They have also introduced several improvements to the registration process based on feedback from parents, families and caregivers, including a new online registration system; easier sibling registration; and enhanced communication about space availability. More information about the registration process, eligibility, and what to expect is available on the WRDSB website: https://wrdsb.social/4naATKf
Jump Rope for Heart
Tomorrow morning, immediately following our announcements, our school community will come together for our Jump Rope for Heart event. We are especially excited to begin the morning with a special performance from our Primary Dance Club. Families of students in grades 1 through 3 who are members of the club are warmly invited to join us on the primary tarmac to celebrate their hard work and creativity before the skipping begins. To ensure we maintain a safe and focused environment for the remainder of our event, we ask that families depart and say their goodbyes once the dance routine concludes.
We have already raised well over $2000 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Congratulations, Coronation Community!
