Hello Coronation families,I want to extend a thank you to the families who joined us for our Spirit Assembly on June 1st. The performances by the Glee Club and Grade 1s as well as presentations of the Territorial Acknowledgement and O’Canada, both in French by Mme Greenwood’s students, were wonderful!
We look forward to seeing families again this Thursday at our Family Picnic and on June 18th at our Fun Fair.

Messages from the Office
CLOTHING DONATIONS – Extended Until Wednesday
WHAT WE NEED: Clean, gently worn clothing for all ages and sizes.
WHEN TO DROP OFF: Bring your clothing donations to the Main Office between now and June 10th.
HOW IT WORKS: At the picnic, anyone can bring a bag and take home items they need for free. There is zero requirement to donate in order to participate, this is about community care and keeping clothes out of landfills
Please note: We cannot accept socks, underwear, or accessories.
Coronation Family Picnic: Thursday, June 11 (1:45 PM – 3:05 PM)
Join us on the Primary Tarmac and Upper Campus as we celebrate the end of the school year together!
What to Bring:
- A picnic blanket or lawn chairs
- Refillable water bottles
- Snacks/food for your family (Note: there will be no food or beverage sales)

EQAO Assessments
I want to take a moment to celebrate our Grade 3 and Grade 6 students, who have officially finished their EQAO assessments. These students worked hard and tried their best as they navigated the assessment with the support of their teachers; Math Facilitator Mrs McKenna; Special Education Resource Teachers Ms Kay and Ms Boyton; and volunteer, Mrs Snyder.
Revive Basketball Club
We wrapped up our brand new Revive Basketball program for our Grade 5 and 6 students this past Friday, and it was a truly fantastic experience from start to finish! Over the course of the program, it was wonderful to watch our students progress in their basketball abilities, focusing on fun, active participation, and essential skill building. I am incredibly proud of every single student who took part for their dedication, enthusiasm, and hard work each week.
We are so grateful for this community partnership with the Revive coaching team, and I am thrilled to share that Coaches Jesse and Abel have already promised to return to Coronation next year to keep growing our basketball community. As a special thank you, all of the students who participated this year will be receiving a complimentary Revive Basketball t-shirt. Thank you to our families for supporting this opportunity, and congratulations to all of our player participants!
Messages from School Council
Fun Fair
You are invited to our best Fun Fair yet! Join us on Thursday, June 18th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on the Upper Field and Tarmac for an evening of community and celebration. We are excited to bring everyone together with food trucks, activities, games, and a performance by a steel drum band to bring some wonderful music and energy to our school yard.
This year, we are also hosting our biggest raffle ever! Raffle tickets will be available to purchase ahead of time on School-Day and will also be for sale in person during the event. If you want a sneak peek at some of the amazing prizes up for grabs, be sure to check out our Instagram page at @corwrdsb where we will be sharing details.
We are proud to feature our Community Corner this year, highlighting local groups and resources that are making a meaningful difference right here in our neighbourhood. As part of this space, we are partnering with our local Food Bank. To help support families in our broader community, we will be collecting donations at the Food Bank table. As a thank you for your generosity, each family that brings a donation will receive two free raffle tickets.
Volunteers Needed
To make our Fun Fair a success, we need your help! Our School Council has put so much care into planning this night, but we cannot do it without our family volunteers. Whether you can give a bit of your time to run a game or activity, help with ticket sales, or assist with setup and cleanup, your hands-on support is what makes this event possible for our kids.
If you are available to help out on Thursday, June 18th, please reach out directly to our School Council Co-Presidents or connect with the main office. Thank you for your continued partnership and for helping us make this a memorable night for the whole school community!
Raffle Baskets
School Council is excited to bring back our popular raffle baskets this year!
To help build these exciting prizes, classroom teachers will be inviting students and families to contribute to a specific theme for their class basket. Please know that participating in these donations is completely voluntary; there is absolutely no obligation to contribute. However, if you are able and interested in supporting this School Council fundraiser for Coronation, any donations to your child’s classroom basket would be greatly appreciated.
Keep an eye out for a message from your child’s classroom teacher with details on their specific basket theme. Thank you for your continued support and partnership as we prepare for a wonderful community night!
