Who is my child’s teacher?

Class lists will be shared on the first day of school. Classroom teachers will be on the tarmac with signs and staff will have class lists, directing students and families to their appropriate teacher. Please look for signs and Coronation staff wearing safety vests.

COVID Protocols

Before coming to school each day, it is recommended that students, visitors, and staff use the Ontario COVID-19 School Screener to determine if it is safe to come to school. If you are sick, it is very important to remain at home until symptoms have begun to improve.

Students, staff and visitors are encouraged to wear masks; however this is not mandatory. If someone has been ill, or has recently travelled out of Canada, masks are recommended. Masks will be available at the request of students and visitors.

We are continuing to limit the amount of bodies in our school. Parents/ guardians, if you need to enter the school, please come to the front door and check in at the office.

What does Nutrition Break look like?

Nutrition breaks will be staggered. 20 minutes to eat and 20 minutes to play, twice a day. Primary students will play outside first, while our junior students eat inside and then switch. We will only be utilising our upper field at Nutrition Breaks.

We will continue with our Boomerang Lunch: As always, we are insisting that all items that come in a child’s lunch are returned in the lunch bag to dispose of at home. Everything that is brought to school will be returned with the students (i.e., food waste, packaging). We know that this can sometimes be messy, using baggies for containers or using reusable containers with lids will help students to minimize the mess.

What can my child bring to school?

A change of clothes for younger children (in a well-labelled zip lock bag)

Indoor and outdoor shoes

A water bottle (water fountains ARE now in use)

A lunch bag or box with food for two Nutrition Breaks

Backpacks with essential school supplies only

Personal hand sanitizer (not required, but allowed)

What should my child leave at home?

We ask that students refrain from bringing toys, sports equipment, and personal items to school as we cannot be held responsible for lost or damaged items

Cell Phones

We understand that some students own cell phones or other personal mobile devices.

For parents/guardians, this means safety and security for when you want to have ready access and contact with your children. We prefer that students leave their phones and other personal mobile devices at home. Should your child need to bring their cell phone to school, we ask that they drop it off at the office for the day. Should you need to be in contact with your child, please call the school line. 519-653-1141

Parking lot safety

Please remember that our parking lot is for staff only. When picking up or dropping off your child, please park on a side street and walk on to school property.

Student Information forms

On September 7th, students will bring home Data Verification Forms. Please ensure these are updated and returned to the school office by September 12th. Further forms will be shared on School Day in the days to come. If your child(ren) has a medical condition that requires a Plan of Care, this information will be coming home in the next two weeks.
