Happy Friday, Cool Cat Families,

What an incredible three days we have had at Coronation!  This week in classes students have been building community, learning routines, and exploring their classrooms.

Today we are celebrating Coronation Cool Cat spirit day.  So many students wore blue, white and/ or red today in celebration!

We started our morning today with our first assembly of the year for our grade 1 – 6 students.  (Our Kindergarten students will join us at the end of the month for their first assembly).

In our assembly we took the opportunity to introduce our staff.   We played an interactive game helping us to remember and practise Coronation School expectations.  You may want to ask your child the question “what does it mean to be a Cool Cat?”  We heard so many amazing answers!

Cool Cat Open House

Please mark the date of WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 18TH on your calendar.

We look forward to welcoming our families to our Cool Cat Open House.

The open house will begin outside on the tarmac and upper field at 5:30 PM.  We will mix and mingle with our community, connect with community partners and enjoy a BBQ provided at a low cost from Clover Kitchens.

From 6:15 – 7:00 PM, families and students will be welcomed into the school to visit their classes and the school.

Clover Kitchen’s combos will be available for PRE-ORDER on School Day for $7.00.  Combos include EITHER a Jumbo Beef Hot Dog, a Jumbo Veggie Dog, or an All-Beef Burger with a water and a bag of chips.  All Combos must be pre-ordered. (More information will be provided on School Day)

October is Islamic Heritage Month

Please note that orders are not connected to Coronation public school.

If you are interested in purchasing from the Affinity Apparel store, Place Your Order here.

Volunteers

We are looking for parents and guardians who would be interested in teaming with a Coronation educator to help facilitate a Cricket club during Nutrition Breaks.

If you are familiar with the game of cricket and would be interested in giving your time to help students to learn and appreciate the game, please reach out to Ms Baer directly.

Parking Lot Reminders

A reminder that our parking lot cannot be used for drop off or pick up.  We ask that you please use Concession Road or Preston Mennonite Church to park and walk on to school property.  We have many students and families walking through our parking lot and in order to keep everyone safe, we thank you for not parking in our school lot.

This does not include families that are dropping off or picking up from extended day.

School Absences

If your child is sick and will not be attending school, please call the attendance line 519 653 1141, Press 1 or email COR-attendance@wrdsb.ca before 8:30 AM.  This will allow our Office Manager, Mrs Cabral to complete safe arrival attendance efficiently.
