What School Staff Are Learning: June 26 PD Day

Friday, June 26, 2026, is a professional development (PD) day for elementary school staff.

Students in Kindergarten to Grade 8 will not attend school, in person or virtually

All Board-operated Extended Day and Youth Development programs will be closed

PD days are held throughout the school year to provide learning opportunities for school-based staff. This professional learning focuses on providing educators and staff with the knowledge and skills needed to support and enhance student achievement and well being.

Primary Creative Playground Update

Our Primary Creative Playground structure on the school yard was removed this past Friday. Because we only learned about its removal late last week, we apologize for not being able to update our families in advance.

Please be assured that we are committed to replacing this space. We will be working closely with the School Board and our School Council to plan for a new, accessible, and improved playground structure for our students. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we begin working on this next project for our school yard.

Family Workshop: It’s About Time

Coach Miguel Martinez from MTClife came to Coronation this past Thursday for a dynamic presentation with our Grade 4/5, 5/6, and 6 classes! To continue that energy, all Coronation families are invited to a highly interactive family workshop this coming Tuesday, June 16th from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM (doors open at 6:00 PM) at William G. Davis Public School.

This evening will be filled with music, games, and practical learning tools for the entire family. Together, parents and children will explore fun ways to strengthen communication, build emotional connections, and find simple strategies to bring more quality time into our busy, digital world. We hope to see you there!

Keep Math Skills Growing This Summer!

To help students practice their math skills and build confidence for September Knowledgehook, Reflex, and Frax will remain fully open and accessible all summer long! These online programs are game-based, fun, and a great way to remain engaged with math through independent practice at home. Students can simply log in using the same usernames and passwords they used in class this year.

Fun Fair

You are invited to our best Fun Fair yet! Join us on Thursday, June 18th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on the Upper Field and Tarmac for an evening of community and celebration. We are excited to bring everyone together with food trucks, activities, games, and a performance by a steel drum band to bring some wonderful music and energy to our school yard.

This year, we are also hosting our biggest raffle ever! Raffle tickets are now available on School-Day 10 for $10 or 20 tickets for $25. They will also be sold for $1.00 a ticket (cash only) at the fun fair. If you want a sneak peek at some of the amazing prizes up for grabs, be sure to check out our Instagram page at @corwrdsb where we will be sharing details.

We are proud to feature our Community Corner this year, highlighting local groups and resources that are making a meaningful difference right here in our neighbourhood. As part of this space, we are partnering with our local Food Bank. To help support families in our broader community, we will be collecting donations at the Food Bank table. As a thank you for your generosity, each family that brings a donation will receive two free raffle tickets.

Volunteers Needed

We continue to be in need of volunteers to make our Fun Fair a success. Please consider volunteering an hour of your time to help run a game or activity, sell tickets, accept Food Bank donations, or assist with setup and clean. If you are able to help, please reach out directly to our School Council Co-Chairs, Chantal Blackburn or Rebecca Donovan or connect with the main office. Thank you for your continued partnership and for helping us make this a memorable night for the whole school community!
