Good Morning Cool Cat Families,
Happy Father’s Day to everyone who steps into the role of a father! Whether you are a dad, step-father, grandfather, uncle, mom, or caregiver fulfilling that role, we appreciate everything you do for our students.
Today we also recognize National Indigenous Peoples Day. It is a beautiful day to spend time outdoors, showing appreciation for our land and nature, and offering our gratitude to the Indigenous stewards of this land.
I truly cannot believe that tomorrow marks the beginning of the very last week of school!
This will be my final weekly letter for the school year.
Thank you all for an incredible year. I will reach out to families again the Friday before school starts with details regarding our first day back, class lists, and important school start-up information.

Coronation Staffing Farewells
We will be saying farewell to some of our Cool Cat staff members this year. We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to learn from and work alongside these incredible educators, and we wish them the very best in their new roles and adventures.
We say farewell to Miss Crossey, Mrs Dandona, Miss Da Silva, Miss Dedman ,Miss Keffer, Miss Maxner, and Mrs Thoman.
We wish Miss Crossey and Mrs Thoman well as they both move on from their Long Term Occasional roles as Primary Classroom teachers at Coronation and hope to see them both return to Coronation in the role of Occasional Teacher or otherwise next year. We thank them both for their enthusiasm, dedication and hard work.
We wish Miss Da Silva well as she moves on from her Long Term Occasional roles as Junior Classroom and Music, Drama, Dance & Health teacher at Coronation. We hope to see her back at Coronation in the role of Occasional Teacher or otherwise next year. We thank her for her creativity, dedication and hard work.
We wish Miss Maxner well as she moves on from her Long Term Occasional role as Kindergarten Planning Time teacher to new opportunities next year. We thank her for her creativity and time at Coronation and wish her the best.
We wish Miss Keffer well as she moves on from her brief Long Term Occasional role as Educational Assistant at Coronation to new opportunities next year. We thank her for her dedication, hard work and time at Coronation and wish her the best in future endeavors.

Reports Go Home on Monday
Term 2 Elementary Report Cards and Kindergarten Communication of Learning Reports go home with students on Monday. We encourage you to take time to read the report with your child and celebrate their progress this term. We are very proud of all of our Cool Cats, their hard work and dedication to learning this school year.
What School Staff Are Learning: June 26 PD Day
Friday, June 26, 2026, is a professional development (PD) day for elementary school staff.
- Students in Kindergarten to Grade 8 will not attend school, in person or virtually
- All Board-operated Extended Day and Youth Development programs will be closed
PD days are held throughout the school year to provide learning opportunities for school-based staff. This professional learning focuses on providing educators and staff with the knowledge and skills needed to support and enhance student achievement and well being.

Summer Office Hours & Information
Although Mr Flett and Mr Trudel will be hard at work inside the building, Coronation and its office will be closed following Friday, June 26th.
Admin and office staff will be returning the week of August 24th and will be able to respond to emails at this time.
Coronation’s office will be open the week of August 31st.
Please note that September 2nd and 3rd are PD Days for staff who will be conducting mandatory training and preparing to welcome our students for another great year of learning and fun.
First Day of School
Tuesday, September 8th is the first day of school. Please watch School Day, our Instagram and our Website cor.wrdsb.ca at the end of August for information about the first day of school and class list information.
Back-to-School Transitions
To help make the return or start to school at Coronation a smooth one, some students and their families will be invited to take part in a short transition visit prior to the start of school. These visits are typically for students with IEPs that include a transition plan, or for students who need a bit of extra support getting settled.
Our Special Education Resource Team will be reaching out to families to schedule these visits. If you don’t hear from us and feel your child would benefit from a transition, feel free to email me directly at jenni-rebecca_baer@wrdsb.ca
Class Lists and Class Placement Requests
Class lists will be shared through School Day on the morning of September 2nd.
Thank you to all the families who submitted class placement requests during the spring. That process was open from April through to June, and we’ve done our best to take those into account.
We are not accepting any requests for changes, and we won’t be making class moves before or during the first few weeks of school.
Our focus in those first few days is on confirming enrollment and ensuring stability for students and educators. Once enrollment is finalized, direction from the School Board will determine whether we are in a position to discuss changes to class assignments. Thanks for understanding and for your support as we get the school year started.
