What School Staff Are Learning: January 17 PD Day

Friday, January 17, 2025 is a professional development (PD) day for elementary school staff.

Students in Kindergarten to Grade 8 will not attend school, in person or virtually

Students in Grades 9 to 12 will attend school on their regular schedule

All Board-operated Extended Day Programs will operate at reduced hours from 8:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.

PD days are held throughout the school year to provide learning opportunities for school-based staff. This professional learning focuses on providing educators and staff with the knowledge and skills needed to support and enhance student achievement and well being.

Feel free to call the office directly, if you’d like to purchase a Smencil as a surprise for your child. Smencils are $2.00 each or 3 for $5.00

A Message from School Council

The Holiday Store is happening this Thursday, and we are so grateful for the incredible generosity of our community. Thank you for your thoughtful donations—we’ve received many wonderful items that will make this event truly special.

On Thursday, December 19th, students are invited to bring a toonie to school to shop at our Holiday Store. Each student will select one item, which will be wrapped for them to take home and give to a friend or family member. Whether celebrating Hanukkah, Yule, Christmas, Kwanzaa, or simply embracing the spirit of giving, this is a wonderful opportunity for students to share joy with their loved ones.

If there are remaining items at the end of the Holiday Store, students may have the opportunity to purchase a second gift for a toonie. While this cannot be guaranteed, students interested in purchasing a second item are welcome to bring an extra toonie just in case.
